ISSN: 13094653

PUBLISHER: The SJR portal says that the publisher is Karadeniz Technical University. However, the new domain and web site states that the journal is run by the "Science Research Society" which has two contact emails. They are info.turcomat@gmail.com (fot submission now) and "Support Contact" editor@turcomat.org. Good luck getting a response to your email if you have a question or problem.

Contact Email: editor@turcomat.org

APC: USD 300 - “Processing Charges: The Turkish Journal of Computer and Mathematics Education (TURCOMAT) is a fully open access journal. The published articles will be freely available to the journal's Website.” Authors should also note that when they transfer their $300 USD it is being converted into Indian Rupee which also has an 18% GST inside the $300. The conversion amount from dollar to Rupee will be around 22,300.

APC UPDATE 2021.08.31 - TURCOMAT is now sending a payment link to another Indian payment portal called "RazorPay". When you click on the link, it says to make payment to 'IJIEMR", which after 3 emails to the journal, was stated to be TURCOMAT's "payment monitoring company" (whatever that is).

They also dropped their APC from $300 to $100.

"Dear Author, Ijiemr is a payment monitoring company. You can pay through Razorpay . Thank you."

Scopus Discontinued List: yes.

Frequency: Starting in 2021 articles are appearing daily.

Template: Download Paper Template Sometimes the link does not work. However, the template is emailed to the author when their paper is accepted.

Copyright: Copyright

Similarity threshold: I don't think any type of similarity report is being done now.

Submission process: This seems to have changed in August 2021 as papers are now supposed to be submitted to info.turcomat@gmail.com . TURCOMAT seems to have dropped the need to use their online system.

Journal Web Page Comments:

Very Diverse Topic Sample Papers:

A Ring-Based Cybersecurity Architecture for Critical Infrastructure

An Approach for Secure Product Traceability in Food Supply Chain Based on Blockchain

Pre-Service Teachers’ Soft Skills and Achievement

ASEAN Open Sky Policy and Air Freedom Rights from the Perspective of Defense Strategy and the Airspace Sovereignty

AJR comments: Very quick from submission to acceptance. In April 2021 we noted a greater divergence in the types of articles being published from Physiotherapists to Transportation Services, and their obvious transition to a ‘multidisciplinary’ journal. This journal has also changed their mission and web URL domain from ‘dergipark’ to TURCOMAT. The journal is also using two Word templates for their papers. One that is on their website that the author must download and use for submission, and another version sent with their acceptance emails. Emails to the journal asking for clarification have gone unansweredTherefore, we send the final proof back using both versions. Also, we wonder how the SCOPUS CSAB RADAR is going to view these name and domain changes. The blind review process is integrated into the acceptance letter. See the following screen capture which looks exactly like that used for Psychology and Education.

Over time, the quality of the processing of papers and total disregard for author communications has gotten to an untenable point. I am now aware of two papers which were accepted and paid for although 2 months later, they have still not been published online and all emails go unanswered as to why. Same is true for other authors who have had papers published but their names were not properly formatted (This is quite common with this journal) and university information missing. Emails to correct these numerous mistakes also go unanswered.

However, please be reminded that acceptance emails say papers will be online within 15 days (good luck with that). Also, papers are no longer assigned tracking numbers and payment is never acknowledged even when a request is made to do so. However, some papers do get published, but in a very hap-hazard way. The only bright light with this journal is they are still being included in Scopus, the APC is relatively cheap at $300, and acceptance is quick. However, I suspect the clock is ticking on their Scopus inclusion...

Also, be aware of scam emails representing TURCOMAT (so they say). Please see my discussion about this.

Bottom line: Submission, acceptance and payment is quick. Significant problems from the past about getting papers online seems to have been resolved (2021.09.01).

On 2021.08.23 Dr. Mohit Angurala was still being listed as EIC on TURCOMAT's website. However,  his earlier email says he quit and has "no connection" (see above screen capture).

Also, don't be confused if  you are sent a link to pay your $100 APC to something called IJIEMR. According to a TURCOMAT  email this is their payment management people...
