The audience of the Journal of Distance Education (RED) is international. Potential topics for the submission of original manuscripts include the following: • Use and evaluation of technology as a support in learning and teaching; • Study and evaluation of instructional design in virtual environments; • Study and evaluation of the quality and impact of technologies on the efficiency and effectiveness of educational intervention; • Studies of innovations in learning (new ways of learning) and teaching supported by digital technology, their dissemination, penetration and reach; • Analysis and study of the personal competences of students and teachers for effective teaching and learning in technological environments; • Theoretical discussion and analysis of the relationships between learning, teaching and technology; • Analysis of policies and strategies at the institutional, regional, sectoral, national or international level.
