Empirical research report: For details of article structure see below. Length should not exceed 40 pages (all inclusive). (This represents about 8,000+ plus words).

Manuscripts should be word processed, double-spaced, in 12-point font with one-inch margins on all sides. articles should be concise and written in good English. The first page of manuscript should contain the article title, abstract, and keywords only. Do not include any identifying information in the body of the paper.
The style guidelines of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed) should be followed. Headings, tables and reference lists should conform to APA style.

Early Childhood Research Quarterly (ECRQ) publishes research on early childhood education and development from birth through 8 years of age. ECRQ publishes predominantly empirical research (quantitative or qualitative methods) on issues of interest to early childhood development, theory, and educational practice.

Author contributions

For transparency, we encourage authors to submit an author statement file outlining their individual contributions to the paper using the relevant CRediT roles: Conceptualization; Data curation; Formal analysis; Funding acquisition; Investigation; Methodology; Project administration; Resources; Software; Supervision; Validation; Visualization; Roles/Writing - original draft; Writing - review & editing. Authorship statements should be formatted with the names of authors first and CRediT role(s) following. More details and an example.
