A platform to speed up publishing

Referring to the F1000Research publishing platform, launched in 2013 and acquired by Taylor and Francis in 2020, she said it provided a rapid publishing platform as well as researcher accessibility and reproducibility through an open data sharing policy.

“F1000 has an open data principle and researchers can publish in life sciences, medicine and physical sciences. It is dedicated to reducing research waste [by] publishing multiple article types, such as data notes, method articles and study protocols alongside original research,” she said.

For Babbit, F1000 aims to “rethink and evolve” the scholarly communication system, combining the benefits of pre-prints with a transparent open post-public peer review process.

Article submission is as quick as 14 days and all contributions undergo a thorough pre-publication check to ensure the research meets the threshold for requirements. Thereafter it undergoes a robust open peer review process by the F1000 peer review team. All comments and author responses are published on the platform and revisions are published, she said.

 Manuscript in MS Word or PDF format (generated from MS Word) is to be submitted online through http://journals.itb.ac.id/index.php/jets. The length of manuscript is expected not to exceed 15 printed pages (single space) including abstract, figures, tables and references. An abstract between 100 and 200 words describes the significance of manuscript should be included. The authors should supply 5-10 keyword or phrases that characterizes their manuscript. Use 11 pt Times New Roman fonts for body of the text with 1.0 line spacing between lines. The references should be numbered consecutively in the order of their appearance and should be complete, including authors’ initials, the title of the paper, the date, page numbers, and the name of the sponsoring society. Please compiles references as shown in the examples below. FFigures are printed in black & white, while color figures are only available online. Therefore, the choice of colors should be ensured that it will be clear when those are printed in black and white. Adjust the size of figures and tables as they will be appeared. All figure captions should be legible, minimum 8 point type. For all equations, use either Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType add-on. Equations are numbered consecutively in parenthesis, e.g. (1), and set at the right margin.

10. Author Fee

OLD: Author whose paper is accepted for publication in Journal of Engineering and Technological Sciences is subjected to pay 150 USD per article up to 15 pages.

NEW: Author whose paper is accepted for publication in Journal of Engineering and Technological Sciences, starting from 1 June 2022,  is subjected to pay 300 USD per article up to 15 pages. If the paper is longer than 15 pages, each additional page will be charged at 20 USD per page.

Manuscript Submission

Submission of an article implies that it has not been previously published nor is under consideration for publication elsewhere, and further, that if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere. general articles (not exceeding 5000 words; six display items, i.e., tables and figures) discuss current trends in research domains that would be of interest to readers outside the field. These include interdisciplinary topics, themes in science policy or science administration, some aspects of the application of science and technology to human needs, or the impact of science and technology on society/ecosystems/life. The articles should include an abstract, an introductory paragraph, brief subheads in appropriate places, illustrations that will help a general reader, and references.

Review articles (not exceeding 6000 words; cited references to be limited to about 100 in number) are expected to survey and discuss current developments in a field. They should be well focused and organized while avoiding a general “textbook” style.

Research accounts (not exceeding 6000 words; cited references to be limited to about 60 in number) are articles intended to be personalized reviews of research from the author(s)’ laboratory that are based on a body of published work. The articles must provide an appropriate background to the area in a concise introduction, which should also serve to place the author(s)’ work in a proper perspective.

References:

Citation information for each source used should be provided. Reference list entries should be alphabetized by the last names of the first author of each work. References should include recent publications (preferably over the past five years).

1. A minimum 20 good quality references should be included (which are cited inside the main body of the article) with the CrossRef DOIs.
2. Websites and newspaper references should be limited to 5–10.
3. All references and in-text citations should be formatted according to APA 7^th edition and presented inside the main body of the article. References which are not cited should not be included in the list.

Article structure

Subdivision - numbered sections
Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering). Use this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to 'the text'. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.

Vitae
Submit a short (maximum 100 words) biography of each author, along with a passport-type photograph accompanying the other figures. Please provide the biography in an editable format (e.g. Word), not in PDF format.

Highlights

Highlights are mandatory for this journal as they help increase the discoverability of your article via search engines.
